I'll be on Thursday at 11:30 PM GMT. If I've done my time conversions correctly, that's 8 PM for CarlitX in Newfoundland and 6:30 PM for me EST.

on Jan 29, 2009

Sure thing milo I'll be sure to be on at 8.

EDIT!: Crap really dsorry, I had it on my mind the whoel day, and then I got caught up in a project in Paint Tool Sai. I got on around 9:20 my time. I stayed on for a while looking for someone who was in this, but nmo one showed. I even had the match made.

Meyst and I were on for about a half hour, then we got bored and found another game. Maybe we can try again tomorrow or something.

on Jan 30, 2009

I will be one every night now to ensure that we get this under way lol. I'll see you online

did anyone even play any of their games?

on Jan 31, 2009

I don't think so. This 3v3 is hard enough to get under way b/c nobody reads the god damned fourms enough.

I read the forums but failed to see this one   until now.  I didnt even know about it , i didnt sign up.  You can try to organize it again but making a sticky subject in forums for advertising and with help of another website for tourney brackets logistics.

I agree with trorosso1.

on Feb 06, 2009

Well, I cant sticky it myself. A mod would of had too. I did alot of promoting online too and with very little return. As You can see the deadlines has passed for the rounds and not 1 finished a game. I just dont think there is enough willing to participate for me to support a huge amount of time. This tournament was a test. And it failed.

the thing with 3v3 and even 2v2 is that you have lots of people trying to coordinate with each other to find a time that is agree-able.  When most of those people are in different time zones, it makes it even harder.

Your best bet, IMHO, is to go with a 1v1 only, set up a double elimination type bracket, set deadlines for each map and have all correspondance for setting up game times for each match be on 1 thread.  That way you can track who actually tried to make the match.  If both parties tried but could not get together before the deadline, then allow for 1 extension, etc, etc...  If one person posted and tried to set up time and day, but the other didn't repsond, then an automatic loss for the 1 who didn't do any posting.

This is probably the only way this could be run effectively and work.

I agree with the Spydyr - I made an effort to contact my opponent, went online multiple times to try to meet up, but no success. Plus not enough were interested to start with - if there is a next time, try to PM a mod and see if they will sticky it to start with...thanks for trying though man! Lately I've been playing the DOW2 beta rather than SOASE but I will come back to this before too long.

I've posted threads about the prospects for setting up a 2v2 or 3v3 ladder but few people ever seemed interested.  Such a ladder could indeed be managed manually at a private forum website (at least until the ladder had about 20 teams at which time it could be moved to Clanbase.com or TeamWarfare.com.)
